Welcome Each New Day
Light is sweet, and it is pleasing for the eyes to see the sun. Indeed, if someone lives many years, let him rejoice in them all, and let him remember the days of darkness, since they will be many.
Ecclesiastes 11:7-8 CSB
There's just something about a new day.
A new day equals new opportunities for adventure and accomplishment. Nothing can buy the feel of the sun on your face on a morning walk.
It is good to be alive!
We sometimes forget that truth as we trudge through chores, responsibilities, and "adulting," as it has become known. There are bills to pay, dishes to wash, and kids to shuttle around from activity to activity. Some days, we'd rather hide under the covers!
Listen, don't miss the blessing in all of your busyness! And yes, I'm aware of the trials and problems that we face. Solomon mentions them, too, when he says that there will be many dark days. But notice what he says before mentioning them; talking about our years (our days), he said that we should "rejoice in them all." That sounds a lot like the Psalmist in Psalm 118:24.
Never forget that there is always joy in Jesus!
Dear Heavenly Father, This is the day that You have made; please help me to rejoice and be glad in it, and in You. Thank you for the blessings that you give to me. And thank You for sustaining me through life’s trials and burdens. Thank You for the gift of life and the gift of this day. In the powerful Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
