From The Womb To The Tomb
“Listen to Me, O house of Jacob,
And all the remnant of the house of Israel,
Who have been upheld by Me from birth,
Who have been carried from the womb:
Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you.
Isaiah 45:3-4
In God's beautiful creation, the seasons come and go and begin all over. In our lives, we only get one turn at each.
In the Spring of life, we are young, energetic, and excited about many things. In the Summer of life, we may enjoy things like marriage, children, and a growing career. In the Fall of life, we say "goodbye" to our children and "hello" to their children - our grandchildren! We live the lives of empty nesters. In the Winter of life, we grow slower, weaker, and more fragile. Death becomes more than just an occasion "probably" way off in the future. No, now it is a present reality. Our earthly journeys are nearing their completion.
As the seasons change, it's natural to feel a sense of uncertainty. But as children of God, we can take comfort in the fact that He remains constant and unchanging, from the cradle to the grave.
God's care for Israel reminds us of His enduring love for us. He was with us in the womb, Has sustained us from birth to this point in our lives, and will continue to be with us through our declining years. He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Regardless of the season you find yourself in, God is with you. He has been faithful in the past, and He will continue to be so in the future.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Father, Thank you for your unending care for me. I know that you have promised to never leave me nor forsake me. Help me to trust you through the changing seasons of life. And help me to enjoy the journey. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
